Work from home and flexi time opportunities on the increase in India

There is good news, specially for over 48 % ofour women workforce who have to drop out of jobs in mid-career due to pressing needs at home. Given a choice a lot of men too would prefer to work from home and are willing to shoulder responsibilities at home too. Wasting so many hours on the road and the lack of freedom in time management due to 9 to 5 jobs, the lifestyle stress is taking a toll on health and relationships in many cases.

Corporate India has begun to see this as an opportunity area with a huge potential of low costs and higher productivity. Flexi timing in effect is a far better option for roles like sales, human resources talent hunt, writing, editing, tele calling, counselling, consultancy projects and so on. One of the media companies, I work for, has recently recruited online reporters, writers and editors on an all India basis which has resulted in a very high level of efficiency in terms of quality as well as costs in comparison to hiring talent on a full time basis with additional investment in offices and infrastructure.

One of the sub editors recently appointed by me shared how at a monthly salary of Rs 40000 for 5 days a week with 8 hours of office time and over 2 hours of commuting time, her per hour incomewas less than Rs 200 due to additional expenses on conveyance. Now she works for only half a day and earns the same amount from the comfort of her home and without the stress of fighting a daily battle to reach office through crowded roads. Her biggest bonus is the extra half day for her family and for her daily exercise routine.

One of my son’s friend has chosen to work online and now visits Delhi only once in a couple of weeks for his meeting from his cottage located near the Corbett Tiger Reserve. He told me that no amount of money could have allowed him the luxury of such a pollution free environment. The interesting part is that his monthly expenses have come down to half of what he used to spend in Delhi.

By now, you may be wondering how to get your kind of job with flexi timing. Simply visit and explore the opportunities by registering online. There are several other platforms like LinkedIn where such opportunities can be tapped by doing a bit of a proactive research. In the case of the portal will bring the opportunity to you instead of you having to search for it.
